FUNCTIONAL & INTEGRATIVE NUTRITION with Karina & Philip
They walk their talk! When they first met, Philip said he has never been able to get rid of a layer of fat. Karina said "just eat what I eat for some months and it will all disappear without effort". A year later, without any dieting, while eating 2,5 kg of food every day, including healthy daily desserts, Philip lost about 8 kg of fat, and has now a very low body fat percentage, and was able to see how beautiful his muscles are, since he has been lifting weights for so many years. In just a few months his skin cleared up from a lot of impurities, he felt lighter, he stopped itching on his back, started sleeping better, cleared his brain fog, got a better digestion and stopped drinking coffee after just a few weeks, since his energy was back. When people meet them they usually say that they look much younger than they are.
WHAT IS FUNCTIONAL & INTEGRATIVE NUTRITION, AND HOLISTIC HEALING?
Functional nutrition and integrative nutrition are a part of functional and integrative medicine. It’s an approach of therapeutic natural diets and holistic practices that support the natural functions of the body-mind, instead of the common non-natural diets and practices that cause disfunction of the body-mind.

Most health professionals are not healthy themselves, and are focused primarily in managing symptoms. Karina and Philip as a self-mastery coaches and functional healthcare providers, focus on being a shiny example, motivation and source of inspiration, of being healthy and harmonious in all aspects of our lives; and that is a great part of the healing that the client needs.
PREVENTION AND HEALING:
Science shows that people who are more susceptible to diseases, such as C0VID-19, cancer, Alzheimer, diabetes, heart disease, auto-immune diseases, etc, have known or unknown dysfunctional systems, as well as localized or generalized inflammation. Functional nutrition works to change the terrain where such dysfunctions happen. It works for prevention and recovery. It works for general health as well as for lowering or erasing symptoms. It supports balancing of hormones, healing the whole digestive tract including leaky gut, stabilizing blood sugar, clearing the lymph and skin, boosting fertility, raising immunity, improving metabolism and energy levels, supporting healthy weight, supporting muscle growth, reducing inflammation, allergies and bloating. How much these conditions will heal will depend on many factors, such as how strict you are with your change in habits, how assertive you and your health providers are on the choice of treatment, how many forms of healing modalities you are using, how long you put them in practice, etc. To be healthy is pleasant, but not to be sick. THE CAUSES OF DISEASES:
Epigenetics shows us that a tiny percentage (1 to 5%) of diseases have a genetic cause; the rest of them is lifestyle related. The causes of diseases can always be traced down to 1 or more of these 3 aspects, usually all of them: - Lack of comprehensive nutrition, as well as a difficulty of the body to absorb what is eaten, and improperly prepared foods that doesn’t support the best maintenance and absorption of nutrients. It starts with insufficiency, then a deficiency is developed. - Toxic load (from food, water, air, cosmetics, household products, feelings, thoughts, radiation, etc.) - Excessive Stress (emotional, mental, physical, environmental, lack of regenerative sleep, allergies, improper time for eating and drinking according to our biological clock, etc.)

MOST PEOPLE ARE ADDICTED TO FOOD
Most people are addicted to food, specially the food that doesn’t heal them. Just to give one example, caseomorphines in milk and gluteomorphins in gluten are opioid-like peptides that cross the blood brain barrier, influencing you neurologically and causing addictions. Karina has a bachelor in psychology and both of them work as self-mastery coaches, and therefore, upon request, can also support you in dealing with your cravings and anxiety in healthy ways, so that you don't use food to self-sooth, and can be disciplined in a joyous way about your new eating lifestyle. Their interest is to make healthy habits be much more delicious than bad habits.

WHAT DO THEY EAT?
They only eat organic unprocessed plants, 3 x a day. They do not eat animal products, refined/processed food, gluten, & rarely isolated food (like protein powder, oil, sugar) or laboratory made vitamins. Their meals are approximately 70% raw and the rest is cooked on low temperatures, in order to protect the food's nutrition and life force. They fast 14 hours each day and sometimes longer. They don't expect that clients will eat as they do or follow all their habits. They will be happy to inspire you with their commitment as well as personalize a plan with you.
PERSONALIZED SUPPORT:
The first session will be a mapping of the problems, as well as guiding for the most important changes. Subsequent sessions will deepen the implementation of new habits in everyday life, according to your needs and wishes. When deepening the therapy, they often guide the client to compare the before and after with specific lab tests (conventional and functional), and how to discover allergies, food sensitivities and intolerances through tests and elimination diets.
They make personalized recipe suggestions for each client in order to accommodate their preferences and allergies. If you wish to eat animal products, oil, gluten and sugar, they will guide you to choose the best sources. They can teach you how to use an online nutrition calculator (to check if your nutrition is balanced in each day), so that you don't depend on nutritionists for this tool. It's up to you how many changes you wish to implement in each session.
They offer customization of: - macro and micronutrients - supplements, - probiotics - fasting (there are many types of fasting for different purposes) - detox of liver, gallbladder, gut and kidneys, - find which foods are most healing to each person - guidance for soaking, sprouting, preparing, cooking, baking - how to chew enough, with mindfulness and no anxiety - how to loose weight without counting calories - guidance for journaling symptoms - guidance of health practices, lifestyle and environmental changes - personalized guided and recorded meditations & visualizations for stress management and self-healing
This is a very different approach than traditional nutritionists use. Traditional doctors/nutritionists have in their university education a great influence from pharmaceutical companies and processed food industries. Karina and Philip don't let themselves be brainwashed by pseudo-science sponsored by unethical corporations. They don't see their health coaching as a replacement for traditional nutrition and medicine, but only see the limitations of these education systems and wish to take charge for their health, and inspire people to be empowered as well. Their best business card is their youthful bodies, great immunity and amazing energy levels.

THEIR BACKGROUND:
Karina has participated in several courses of natural and functional nutrition, detox, iridology, fasting and study these themes on a regular basis since she was 11 years old. Already on that age she gave up eating meat and a lot of junk food/drinks, through her own initiative). Philip has learned most of these concepts from Karina since May 2018, from several online courses/videos, as well he has been to a chef school for a 2 years course in 2006, 6-8 hours a day). They are very interested in scientific researches that have been done on a large number of people, during a long period of time (for example, The China Study), and they test many of such scientific findings in their own body. They understand that different bodies may have different needs and they are never dogmatic about their choices and suggestions. You can take as many sessions as you wish. They suggest a package of 10 sessions to make effective changes. 1 hour session has a contribution of 1500 NOK, and a package of 10 has 10% off (1 package free). They open to discuss partial of full exchanges (to promotion or other services that I might need). They offer you free extra accountability chats in between sessions if you book weekly sessions. You are welcome to record the meetings for your own use. You can book sessions as often as you wish. They will be happy to meet in their home or your home, if you need to get practical in the kitchen, or even at the supermarket or health food store. Or they can have the sessions in another place in Oslo, Nesodden, Nordre Frogn & Viken, or even on a video call through Skype, or Messenger, Teams, Zoom, etc. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the format of these sessions. You are also welcome to hire them to lecture about this topic for your groups, anywhere in Norway or abroad.
